An exciting discipline in which horses and equine-related activities are used for therapeutic purposes.

Possible benefits may include improved muscle tone, balance, posture, coordination and motor development as well as emotional and psychological well-being.

  • Cognitive - following directions helps riders focus.
  • Sensory Integration - the farm provides a variety of sensory stimuli.
  • Emotional - courage, self confidence and self esteem are achieved though the setting and achievement of goals
  • Behavioral - the horses and participation in the program are strong motivators for acceptable behavior.
  • Social - lessons are social events where riders interact with each other as well as their team. The team consists of instructors and volunteers.
